In a time of health crisis, we often succumb to not being able to perform our regular duties of employment, and therefore not able to have the same flow of income as prior to being diagnosed.
My suggestion to all of you is don't wait to ask for assistance. By the time I looked around, I was not eligible for most services since I was no longer under chemo/radiation treatment. I was recovering from my 3rd surgery, so I was able to get some financial help, but there is an enormous amount of folks out there willing to help you through such organizations.
I was so grateful to being able to get help with my bills - they came in the nick of time!
Some of the organizations are area-specific, so the ones I've used were close to Riverside, CA.
I must speak highly of especially 3 non-profit organizations who did the best they could for me. They are as follows:
1) Breast Cancer Solutions
3843 S. Bristol St. #152
Santa Ana, CA 92704-7426
(866)960-2222
2) KSIBCF-Kommah Seray Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation
800 S. Barranca Ave. Suite #220
Covina, CA 91723
(626)858-8326
3) Michelle's Place
27645 Jefferson Ave., Ste #117
Temecula, Ca 92590
(951)699-5455
These 3 organizations offer assistance with: Utilities, Medical Premium payments, gasoline to help with going to doctor appointments, as well as many other services that I did not qualify for.
Don't hesitate to give them a call - they are very kind people wanting to help. Let them know I referred you!
Here's to your health!
